Gorgeous is a formerly feral cat. He was three years old before he would let anyone touch him and didn’t become an indoor cat until he was six – after his nosectomy due to skin cancer. Now he loves people and insists that guests give him lots of love and attention. One of the remarkable things that Gorgeous did, long before he would have anything to do with humans, was take care of and comfort Stash’s kittens while she was away at the vet getting spayed. As is typical of ferals, Gorgeous didn’t meow. But when those babies were scared and alone he mewed at them and followed them everywhere and played with them! This was before TNR, when he was still a tom.
Sandra Dalton is a fine art photographer focusing on portraiture and pictures that tell a story. She is best known for her portraits of feral and rescue cats. Growing up on the outskirts of a few metropolitan areas, she has chosen to live in the mountains for most of her adult life. Sandra started out as a writer. Raised by a photographer, she spent her early years in front of the lens, and only began to delve into photography in her 30’s. She has had a love for, and natural connection with, animals since before she could talk. Her work reveals both her love of storytelling and her love of animals.
